Mitsubishi Motors Phils. Corp. (MMPC) brings more excitement and driving pleasure with the introduction of its upgraded best selling Sport Utility Vehicle and Double Cab Pick-up. MMPC is pleased to introduce the more powerful Montero Sport GLS-V 4×2 AT and Montero Sport GTV 4×4 AT, back to back with the Strada 2.5 GLS Sport V 4×4 AT and now a new additional variant Strada 2.5 GLX V 4×2 AT. These models will again set the benchmark for performance, riding comfort and value for money. Both Montero Sport and Strada 2.5 liter automatic models are now powered by a Variable Geometry Turbocharger and loaded with new features that will surely deliver pure driving.
Montero Sport GTV and GLS-V
The new Montero Sport GTV 4×4 AT and GLS-V 4×2 AT is now powered by 2.5 Liter 4 In-Line DOHC 16-Valve with Variable Geometry Turbocharger and Intercooler 4D56 diesel engine. Thanks to the VGT technology, the Montero Sport’s Common Rail Diesel engine now pumps out 178 PS and 350Nm of torque and assures optimized engine efficiency and performance at any engine speed. The Variable Geometry technology reduces the lag time and increases overall efficiency across the entire RPM range. Aside from being powerful, durable and dependable, this engine has been noted to be, responsive and economical. To add more excitement to driving, the new Montero Sport GTV is now equipped with 5-Speed INVECS-II automatic transmission with Sportronic mode and complemented with Magnesium Alloy paddle shifters for spirited and exhilarating drive. INVECS-II is a proprietary transmission technology by Mitsubishi Motors Corp. that intelligently adapts to an individual’s driving style.
For four wheel drive fun, the Montero Sport is equipped with the Super Select 4WD system which is the same type found on the current Pajero. The secret of this system is its synchronized free-wheel front differential which lets the driver switch from 2WD to high-range 4WD even at speeds up to 100 km/h – and back at any speed with just a movement of the lever. The Montero Sport GTV is also equipped with a hybrid type limited slip differential which provides additional assurance that power will be transmitted as positive traction to all wheels.
Extensive research and development was invested in making sure that the Montero Sport GTV has superior riding comfort than the competition. The excellent riding comfort of the Montero Sport is made possible by its front double wishbones with coil springs, and a rear 3-link coil suspension with a long trailing arm design. Both ends are fitted with stabilizer bars to reduce body roll during cornering. A power assisted rack and pinion steering system provides good road feel, better response, and a class leading turning radius of only 5.6 meters. The entertainment system is now upgraded and features 1-DIN In-Dash 7-inch Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) monitor with touch screen interface, DVD/CD/ MP3 AAC/WMA/ WAV/ Tuner with preset stations. The Multimedia Entertainment System also ensures versatility in function for any media you use it with whether playing DVDs/VCDs/CDs, iPod or iPhone, or USB devices. Accessing the vehicle’s vital information is now made easier with the new Multi Information Display System. Information such as Outside Temperature, Fuel Consumption, Speed, Range, Direction (Compass), Outside Pressure, Elevation, and Periodic Service Maintenance reminder are among the information available with just a touch on the LCD screen. In addition, both Montero Sport GTV and GLS-V models are equipped with Global Positioning Navigation System which will assist the driver to navigate easily through various thoroughfares. Integrated also to the Multi-Information system of the Montero Sport GTV variant is the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) which relays the real time condition of all tires such as air pressure and temperature.

Strada 2.5 GLX V 4×2 AT and 2.5 GLS Sport V 4×4 AT
MMPC will also be launching 2-new variants of the Strada double cab pick up, the 2.5 GLX-V 4×2 A/T and the 2.5 GLS Sport-V 4×4 A/T. Similar to the Montero Sport, both new Strada variants are now more powerful, thanks to its 2.5 liter 4-in-line DOHC Variable Geometry Turbocharger and Intercooler 4D56 common rail direct injection diesel engine that creates a maximum power of 178Ps/4000rpm and a maximum torque of 350N-m/1800~3500rpm The Strada GLX 4×2 comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission while the 2.5 GLS Sport-V 4×4 will have a 5-speed automatic transmission with sportronic feature that brings out the convenience of an automatic transmission and the excitement of a manual feel.
The Strada’s wheelbase of 3000mm, front tread of 1520mm and rear tread of 1515mm are set to improve both handling stability and riding comfort. These tread dimensions also provide increase in maximum steering angle that permits a class-smallest minimum turning radius of 5.9m. And with the dimension of 5115mm x 1800mm x 1780mm (LxWxH) and bed dimension of 1325mm x 1470m x 405m and cargo floor height of 850mm the Strada showcases the biggest cabin space in its class perfect whether for business and personal use.
Adding functionality and fun is the new Multimedia and Information System which is standard to the Strada GLS Sport-V 4×4 AT variant.
