Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) recently donated P1M worth of school equipment and construction materials to elementary schools in Cainta and Taytay which were heavily damaged by typhoon Ondoy. In a simple ceremony held last November 11, MMPC management headed by its President & Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Masahiko Ueki turned over the donation to various school officials and their respective student representatives. The donation turnover was also witnessed by the local government officials of Cainta and Taytay, Rizal spearheaded by Mayor Ramon Ilagan and Vice Mayor Janet de Leon-Mercado, respectively and the Department of Education Superintendent of Rizal, Dr. Aurea Sto. Domingo.
Cainta Mayor Ramon Ilagan commended MMPC in living up to its commitment of enriching future generation and working towards community development through several CSR projects such as this. The school officials and representatives gratefully received the donations, as it will fast track the recovery and rehabilitation of their schools at the same time boost the morale of the students. “I am very much overwhelmed with these gifts that MMPC has just given us. The wrath of typhoons Ondoy has caused vast damage to several school equipments and properties in our town. These donation will be very helpful to our teachers and students in coping again”, Dr. Aurea Sto. Domingo- DEP-Ed Superintendent of Rizal thankfully said.
MMPC donated brand new personal computers, laser printers, public address (PA) systems, DVD players, ceiling fans, various hygiene materials and also construction materials essential for the school building rehabilitation. “We believe that thru our simple effort we are able to fulfill our commitment and responsibilities as a corporate citizen”, Mr. Masahiko Ueki said. Aside from the school donations MMPC has been active in sponsoring outreach programs for the victims of typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.
