Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), one of the country’s top automotive manufacturing company recently achieved the Integrated Management Systems (IMS) certification after concluding an audit last June 2013. The audit was conducted by TUV SUD PSB Philippines Inc. which is an internationally recognized firm providing comprehensive and independent suite of product testing, inspection and certification services. The certificates were recently presented by TUV SUD PSB Philippines Inc. Deputy General Manager, Ms. Femelyn Lati to MMPC executives headed by the President and CEO, Mr. Hikosaburo Shibata.
IMS combines the components of quality, environment and occupational health and safety management systems into a single framework to efficiently and effectively realize the organization’s goal. MMPC first acquired certification for its Quality Management System or ISO 9002:1994 in 1999 and for its Environmental Management System or ISO 14001:1996 in 2001. Since then, MMPC has consistently maintained certification to both Quality and Environmental Management Systems, eventually acquiring the latest versions, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004, respectively. On its quest for continual improvement, MMPC embarked on another international standard known as the Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series and was recently granted certification to BS OHSAS 18001:2007. Through effective implementation of this Standard, MMPC gives due importance on the welfare of its employees by providing them with a healthy and a safe workplace.
MMPC is proud to be the very first in the local automotive industry to receive the IMS certification that incorporates the three core International Standards for quality, environment, and health & safety in managing its systems. These certifications are testaments of MMPC’s efforts and commitment in the organization’s pursuit in providing the highest satisfaction to its valued customers at the same time taking into consideration its processes and actions that give positive impact to the environment, to its employees and to the whole society.
