Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) and the Technological University of the Philippines – Cavite (TUPC) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that paved the way for the donation of a Mitsubishi Mirage G4 and other automotive workshop tools, training engine, transmission & components (equipment) to the university.
In attendance during the event were TUP System President Dr. Jesus Rodrigo F. Torres, TUP-Cavite Campus Director Dr. Myrna M. Tepora, MMPC Senior Vice President for After Sales Mr. Masayoshi Miyatake, and MMPC Senior Manager for CS Improvement Department Mr. Gideon C. Bruno, other representatives from the TUP system and MMPC South Luzon dealers.
The donation, as part of MMPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility and pursuant to its socio-civic consciousness, initiated the implementation of the program for Automotive Technology with TUP Cavite, which is designed to provide essential training to automotive instructors and students of the school in order to enhance and upgrade their knowledge, skills and competencies in the automotive technology. This is the first actual vehicle of the university for its automotive students intended solely for technical training and education purposes.
During the ceremony held at the TUPC campus auditorium, Dr. Torres thanked MMPC for its donation and highlighted how the vehicle and other training component materials donated will be of significant help to the students. He also pointed out the roles of our dealerships that help TUPC’s graduating students in securing an on-the-job training in their service centers and eventually being employed.
On the other hand, MMPC is excited to start this journey with TUP as its partner in elevating the technical skills of the Filipino youth. MMPC will further tie-up with other TUP campuses nationwide to supply training vehicle, train other technical instructors and educate students in the area of automotive, and together, drive our ambition forward.
