Through the initiative of Montero Sport Club of the Philippines (MSCP), Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), Makati Medical Center Foundation (MMCF), and the local city government, conducted free medical services in Malolos, Bulacan. Around three hundred patients were given free dental, medical, optical and surgical services at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center last June 3, 2017.
Patients availed different services like tooth extraction, eye check-up, pap smear and cervical screening, and diabetes and prostate cancer screening. There were also some patients who underwent minor surgery. As part of the program, volunteers from Philippine Academy for General Dentistry also conducted a seminar on dental health where the beneficiaries were taught proper dental hygiene. Apart from the free medical services, beneficiaries also received free medicines, reading glasses and dental kit.
When asked to share his thoughts on the event, MMPC Senior Vice President Yosuke Nishi said, “Given that some has limited access to medical care, it is heart breaking to hear that some needlessly suffer and even worse, die from illnesses that can be so easily avoided. This dental, medical, optical, and surgical mission is our small contribution to foster good health and serve our less fortunate brothers and sisters”.
This event would not be possible if it were not for the vision and commitment of the Montero Sport Club of the Philippines (MSCP) to support projects that would benefit the needy. Quoting MSCP President John Michael Artienda, “We thank MMPC for giving us support in this very 1st joint medical services mission together with MMCF. Through MMPC’s support, we were able to help those who are in need of medical attention. We hope that this is the start of more collaborative projects of MSCP & MMPC.”
