Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) embarked on a joint study with various Philippine government agencies, members of the academe, and Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) in promoting electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in the country. This initiative is in line with the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MMC and DENR on environmental load reduction signed last February 2017.
It can be recalled that last June 2017, MMC donated five Outlander PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles) and five i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) electric vehicles to the DENR along with four electric vehicle quick charger units during the first ASEAN Electric & Hybrid Vehicles Summit.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is also preparing for the construction of the EV quick charging stations that will be placed not only in Metro Manila but also in Cebu and Davao. The unveiling of these quick charging stations is set between October-November of this year.
These steps in addressing air pollution in the Philippines proves the dedication Mitsubishi Motors has in its principle of preserving the global environment.
