Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation builds strong relationship with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office

Laguna, September 13, 2017 – As a way to show our support to its advocacies, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has been enthusiastically participating in the activities and programs initiated by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (City ENRO) of Santa Rosa.

Recently, MMPC joined the “SILAKBO” Tree Planting activity held in Silang, Cavite that brought together several schools and companies around the city. A total of 300 Kaong plant seedlings were planted along the Silang-Santa Rosa River as part of the Save Silang-Sta. Rosa River Foundation’s adopt-a-river program. The Kaong was chosen since it is one of the endemic species in the country and the most suitable to plant within the area.

Aside from the tree planting activity, MMPC also donated 600 garbage pails to City ENRO that will be distributed to various public schools in Santa Rosa City. This is to adhere to the Department of Education’s (DepEd) campaign to introduce waste segregation and solid waste management to public schools. Prior to this, most schools in Santa Rosa City have been trained on waste segregation and proper handling of waste materials.

During the turnover ceremony for the garbage pails, City ENRO Officer, Ms. Erlinda Creencia said, “Your donation is a big help in promoting solid waste management segregation which is essential in reducing our waste that are being disposed in the sanitary land field.” Ms. Creencia further expressed her gratitude to MMPC and shared, “We expect your continuous involvement and support in all our environmental programs like SILAKBO, Adopt-A-River, and in our solid waste management.”

For sure, MMPC is one with the city government of Santa Rosa towards becoming an environmentally sustainable city.
