Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), as directed by its principal, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, will conduct a safety inspection campaign on Pajero models. Air bag is subjected to changes of temperature under humid condition for a long time use, the propellant (ammonium nitrate) in the airbag inflator for the driver seat side may be deteriorated. As a result, the inflator body may rupture at the time of airbag deployment and so replace the airbag inflator for driver seat side with countermeasure part.
This proactive measure is meant to ensure the safety of our valued customers on the affected vehicles.
The inspection and/or replacement of the inflator may take about one (1) hour at the most and shall be free of charge. Those included in this safety inspection campaign shall be for Pajero model years 2007 – 2016.
There will be a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) checking/verification procedure for all potentially affected units which will be posted in a press release in MMPC’s website http://mmpc.ph/pressrelease/mitsubishi-motors-philippines-announces-safety-inspection-campaign-for-pajero-driver-side-airbag-inflator/. To ensure smooth servicing, customers may call their preferred Mitsubishi Motors dealership for the schedule of servicing appointment.
