Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), an ISO 14001 certified plant for over a decade, has taken another significant step in protecting the environment with the official inauguration of MMPC’s wastewater recycling facility on August 26, 2011. The inauguration was led by MMPC executives: President & CEO Hikosaburo Shibata, EVP, CFO & Treasurer Kazuki Sugino and SVP Isao Taguchi present also during the inauguration were Mayor Mon Ilagan of Cainta and Vice-Governor Frisco San Juan, Jr. of Rizal.
This recently launched Php 9.2 million project of MMPC aims to provide reliable and quality water, minimizing resource depletion and preventing water pollution. The facility is able to process 120 cubic meters per day of wastewater which is equipped with filtration, reverse osmosis and neutralization systems that produce quality water fit for industrial purposes and is sized to partially serve MMPC’s water requirements. The wastewater recycling facility began its full operation in November 2011 and is expected to decrease the company’s water consumption by 40% or equivalent to 34,000 cubic meters per year.
